The Uncertain City by Ann Xiao (GB)

Ann Xiao is an animation director living and working in London, originally from Beijing China. Since graduating from The University of Arts London, Ann Xiao has directed animated shorts, music videos and commercials for 4 years. She has developed a distinct, surrealist style combining technical illustrations with exciting colors and playful surroundings. She has been commissioned from the likes of MTV, Channel 4, Toyota, Tiger Beer, COI and the Discovery Channel. Ann used to be a professional comic artist that her work was published in magazines across China on a regular basis during her teens. Although initially training in architecture, Ann began pursuing a career in animation when she came to London. Ann has won the “Best Art Style Animation” at the Oriental Animation and Comic Competition in China and her work is often described as ‘architectural space meets the surrealistic dreams.’
