What happens when you take the medium of traditional Television Broadcasting and combine it with the much less traditional medium of the Internet? Well, you'll probably end up with a television set for the new millennium, you'll definitely end up with something new and edgy, and you're going to end up here at CultureTV! We've taken Clipstream, and we're streaming it all out to you broadband users for free!

What can I expect to see?

Keepin' it simple. CultureTV! delivers you the best mix of art, short artvideos, events, museum, galleries, artists and artnews.

Plus, you the viewer can soon submit shorts, cell phone films, dedications, and requests to interact with the network and influence what gets aired. Tell us what you want to see from our rapidly growing library of artvideos, short films and more. CultureTV! will provide and develop dozens of programs to keep our viewers entertained and there'll be more to come in the future.

Who?

CultureTV is an initiative of the Target Foundation. Marjan van Mourik, former gallery-owner and founder of Target Foundation: "With CULTURETV we are meeting the current needs of the internetuser and creative peoples. The content is available via internet 24/7. At the same time we are creating a platform with interesting possibilities for artists, gallery-owners, art lovers a.o. Not only they will be informed of the latest art news but also they can collaborate by submitting short videos with content for the channel".

Alexander Kaffka, is business and arts consultant based in Moscow. Alexander worked with international PR agencies including APCO Worldwide. Previously, he was founder of the first Russian-language magazine on contemporary international cultural life – „Avenue“, and consulted other arts publications and organizations including UNESCO Association.  Alexander has a Ph.D. degree in history, and for over 12 years he worked in leading international affairs think tanks in Moscow, Washington, Stockholm, and Brussels. Ruud Elmendorp is a Dutch video journalist. As freelance correspondent he produces reports and documentaries on African news and current affairs. They are broadcasted on television in The Netherlands and abroad, and on the Internet. He mastered the job in The Netherlands by reporting for regional and national television. After being a correspondent in Southern Sudan he moved to Nairobi in 2002.

Ruud Elmendorp works by himself using a dvcam camera and a laptop for editing. Production are based on personal observations of the news. It give the features involvement and personality.


Pierre Mertens is a Belgian visual artist and curator. He makes regular films for CULTURETV.
